We Grow Panthers Spotlight

"The trip of a lifetime" perfectly summarizes the reactions that have been shared about the Civil Rights Journey, as taken by True North students recently. Students and staff from True North Academy and other Simon Youth Academies recently participated in this life-changing trip that took them to Birmingham Alabama and Atlanta Georgia. This multi-day experience was designed to deepen their understanding of American history and the ongoing fight for justice, equity, and opportunity.

Following are a few of the thoughts shared from our True North participants:
Devien Cal- “It was the best weekend of my life as I was better able to understand my culture.”
Zion Logan- “It was surreal. I expanded my knowledge and met new people.”
Ariana Williams- "It was a 10/10 experience. I met some really cool people including a survivor of the 116th Street Baptist Church bombing.”
Cherish Williams - "I absolutely loved it. It was thought-provoking as we visited the different locations and I saw how important faith is in the black church.”
Mr. Adrian Arias- “It is an experience that all teachers, not just social studies, need to take part in.”

We truly appreciate our partnership with the Simon Youth Foundation and all that they do to support students and staff. This journey truly impacted our participants and we hope to share it with others in the future. #WeGrowPanthers

National School Breakfast Week

We are Celebrating National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) in our school cafeterias March 2-6, 2026! With the theme “The Quest for School Breakfast,” we are aiming to highlight the importance of a healthy morning meal for student success. We hope to encourage students to explore new tastes and traditions, making school meals exciting and engaging one delicious bite at a time.

National School Breakfast Week is an opportunity to celebrate the impact of school breakfast, reminding school communities that fueling students is about more than food. It’s about helping every child begin their day equipped for success.

Breakfast provides the strength, focus and energy students need to conquer the day! Please join us in our school cafeterias March 2-6! Visit https://www.msdwt.k12.in.us/child-nutrition for featured menu items all week.
